Here Are 13 Local Houston Businesses You Can Support

While many businesses have struggled with the lasting effects of the recent shut down, local businesses have taken the biggest hit. Supporting local is now more important than ever. There are plenty of local Houston businesses that could use your support, so we’ve compiled a list of various local organizations for you to consider supporting. 
 

  1. Grocery Stores  

When doing your weekly grocery shopping, consider patronizing local and family operated stores! Phoenicia Specialty Foods is a local grocery store that carries a multitude of staple gourmet foods, along with household basics. They offer quality produce, fresh meats and seafood, artisan breads, rustic-style pizza, boutique wines and craft beers, premium meats and cheeses, a signature coffee and gelato bar, and even a floral section. This one-stop-shop offers just about everything, and is also involved in various community projects like Trees for Houston, Houston Food Bank and more. 

If you’re looking for fresh bread, pastries and other baked goods, consider stopping by Kraftsmen Baking in The Heights. Their bakery cafe is open from 8 AM to 3 PM for to-go orders and they offer free delivery within an 8 mile radius.

Brothers Produce is also a great place to get all of your fresh locally grown produce. You can purchase fruit, veggie or keto boxes online or visit their store in Pine Valley.
 

  1. Coffee

Cavo Coffee is one of many amazing local coffee shops in Houston. They use their own freshly brewed beans from Cleo. Roasting Co. and also have a kitchen where they prepare delicious food from locally sourced vendors. As of May 2nd, outdoor patios have been opened for guests to enjoy with furniture arranged safely apart. Curbside pickup is also available at both locations. 

 

  1. Wine & Dine

Frank’s Americana Revival  is a family run restaurant that has won multiple awards for their mouth watering dishes. They feature a wide selection of regional favorites, as well as modern American inspired cuisine. Frank’s combines fine dining with a comfortable atmosphere and mid-century decor. As of now, the restaurant is practicing at a 25% occupancy for dine-in guests, no more than six guests in a party, reservations only, spatial seating of six feet minimum and a two-hour dine-in limit. Take out is also available. 

Unwind with a trip to Public Services, a wine and whisky bar located in the historic Houston Cotton Exchange Building Downtown. Public Services specializes in an international selection of hard to find wines and whiskies. Currently, you can order products online for pickup through their website.

They design new boxes each week, all featuring unique color pallets and locally sourced materials. The chic wooden boxes the flowers are placed in are manufactured locally in Houston and can be repurposed.
