Nan Gives Back During Winter Storm Uri

This week the South was hit with a massive winter storm that caused millions to lose power and water and saw damage to infrastructure and homes. To give back to our hometown, Houston, TX, Nan and Company Properties partnered with various businesses to provide food to Houstonians impacted by the winter storm. Nan was able to utilize our newly acquired Nan Van to travel around the city!

To begin, Nan partnered with local supermarket, Guanajuato Supermarket Houston, to provide 300 breakfast tacos to Houstonians at Gallery Furniture with Mattress Mack. Next, Nan partnered with local restaurant, Taqueria Del Sol, to provide food plates to the Houston Area Women's Shelter for all staff and women residing at the shelter. The third stop of the day was delivering plates to the fireman at the Downtown Fire Station 8. The last stop of the day was delivering 600 tacos alongside rapper Trae the Truth at a neighborhood near Downtown.

On Saturday, Nancy and Jose Almodovar purchased 300 sandwiches from the local business Joe’s Deli on 9451 Winkler Drive. They then passed out water and sandwiches alongside Texas state representative Christina Morales, firefighters from Fire Station #42, and Catholic charities to residents of low income apartments in South Houston.

All in all, Nan was lucky enough to be able to feed over 1,390 Houstonians that were impacted by Winter Storm Uri. We are happy to be able to give back to our city and send prayers to all those affected by this winter storm. We are with you!
