    THINGS TO DO IN HOUSTON

Our amazingly diverse Houston home is more than just skyscrapers. There are so many things around our city that visitors can do, but surprisingly, even many native Houstonians haven’t fully discovered all of the places and attractions our wonderful city has to offer. Whether you’re a visitor, new resident, or long-time Houstonian, here are some of the top things to do in the fourth largest city in the nation.

    MUSEUM DISTRICT

Luckily for you, many of Houston’s best attractions can be found right here in the Museum District. You have the option of “attraction-hopping” or just choosing a new locale to visit every other weekend! Some of the most popular places in the Museum District to visit are:

    • Museum of Natural Science
    • Museum of Fine Arts
    • Children’s Museum of Houston
    • The Menil Collection
    • Holocaust Museum
    • The Houston Zoo

Outside of the Museum District, it’s definitely worth visiting the former NASA Space Center in Houston, too! Families can meet and dine with an actual astronaut, explore a space exhibit, enjoy a science show, and more!

    SHOPPING

If you’re looking for a unique Houston shopping experience, take a trip to the Houston Galleria Mall! Home to over 400 stores and restaurants, hotels, and office towers, the Galleria provides a plethora of opportunities for you to satisfy all your shopping needs.

    PARKS AND OUTDOORS

Just because we’re the fourth largest city in the country, doesn’t mean we lack green acreage! In fact, Hermann Park, located right by the Museum District and Houston Medical Center, is roughly 445 acres big, and home to a large amphitheater, train rides, golf courses, play areas, and more. And if you look within Downtown Houston, you will find Discovery Green, a 12-acre park that is right next to the Downtown George R. Brown Convention Center.
