Our favorite time of the week is almost here, and there’s no better way to spend it than exploring our beautiful city! If we can you help you find your new favorite restaurant or hang-out spot, then we’re doing our jobs as Houston experts. Looking for weekend plans? Check out these events this weekend! You can thank us later.

    FRIDAY

Third Eye Blind in Concert at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Are you an avid Third Eye Blind listener or a general fan of great music? Catch the band this Friday at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion as their Summer Gods Tour makes its way to The Woodlands! Tickets start at $25.

Cool Nights at the Houston Zoo – Thanks to TXU Energy, the Houston Zoo is staying open late, so you can enjoy the animals in the cooler evening weather. Join Houstonians for Cool Nights every Friday evening through August 11. From 5 to 8 p.m. guests can enjoy added music and fun family activities that are sure to entertain kids and adults alike! All activities are included in Zoo admission and are free for Zoo Members. Looking for a sweet discount? All summer long, you can save $4 on regular Zoo admission when you arrive after 4 p.m.

    SATURDAY

Tacos and Doggos Adoption Event at Tacos A Go Go – Are tacos and dogs two of your favorite things? This event in Garden Oaks is for you! Dress your dog up to the nines, and enter him or her in the Doggie Dress Up Contest for a chance at door prizes, raffles, costume prizes, plus some local brews! Animal Justice League will also be bringing rescue dogs ready for adoption! Whether your dog is costumed or not, Tacos A Go Go is dog-friendly! So bring your furry friend, and be ready for a good time. Contest starts at 11 a.m.

Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins at Minute Maid Park – In case you missed it, our Houston Astros had six players in uniform at Tuesday night’s All-Star Game. Six! With the second-best record in the major league at 60-29, this team is on fire! Catch these guys in action at Saturday night’s game against the Minnesota Twins at 6:10 p.m.

    SUNDAY

Brunch at Max’s Wine Dive – This one’s for those who love to indulge in comfort food. If you’re looking for a place that serves delicious deep fried chicken with your waffles, biscuits and salads, then you’ll need to add this brunch location to your list! Calories don’t count on the weekend, right? Max’s also makes amazing fried egg sandwiches: a genius combination of three fried eggs, bacon, a blend of parmesan, gruyère, provolone, and white cheddar cheeses, lettuce, tomato, and black truffle aioli on sourdough bread. And of course, would it even be considered brunch without the mimosas? Max’s Wine Diver has two locations: 4720 Washington Avenue and 214 Fairview Street.

Sunday Family Zone at the Museum of Fine Arts – Bring the whole family to MFAH from 1 to 4 p.m. for an afternoon of games, activities, storybook readings, mini tours of the galleries and more! All activities are included with admission. While you’re out exploring the Museum District, be sure to check out the real estate in the area. From high-rise condos to ultra-modern houses, we have luxury homes just waiting to be snatched up!
