You’d be hard pressed to say there’s nothing to do in Downtown Houston. Texas’s largest city has enough attractions that are bound to keep you educated, stuffed, and entertained.

POST Houston

Once a major regional post office in Downtown Houston, this historic location was transformed into a modern space that hosts work spaces, restaurants, music venues, event spaces, and cool spaces to hang out.

Eat

POST Houston has over 20 restaurants that provide something for everyone. Your choices range from tacos to Thai, Korean to crepes, Andean to African, and so much more!

Listen

713 Music Hall is Houston’s newest 5,000 person, state-of-the-art music venue. It’s hosted acts like Incubus, Demi Lovato, and Judas Priest, just to name a few.

Experience

The large open space and criss-cross stair structure provides an unique environment for fashion shows, art installations, and creative performances.

Hang Out

The Skylawn is POST Houston’s 5-acre rooftop park and farm that is situated on top of the majority of the building. Its views of Houston and free events like exercise classes and music events make this a great place to pass the time with your favorite people.


Discovery Green

Since 2008, this 12-acre urban park has attracted more than 1.5 million visitors per year. Discovery Green hosts more than 600 free events including fitness classes, movies, and concerts, all while allowing you to catch gorgeous views of the Houston skyline.

Discovery Green Restaurants

Discovery Green has two restaurants, The Grove and The Lake House, both offering indoor and patio seating.


Minute Maid Park

Home of the MLB Houston Astros, catching a baseball game is one Houston’s favorite pastime activities, but there’s more to do at the park. The park hosts other events and activities like concerts, festivals, ballpark tours, other sporting events, and much more.


Secret Garden Speakeasy

Nestled on the patio of the Bravery Chef Hall, the Secret Garden offers an enchanting downtown escape serving up a selection of cocktails, wine, beer, and other libations. Between the hours of 8am and 3pm you can order from a variety of coffee drinks including Vietnamese, Greek Espresso, Greek Freddo Cappuccino, Turkish Coffee, and more. Stop by on Sundays for brunch to enjoy mimosa and sparkling rosé specials.

Market Square Park

Located in the heart of Downtown Houston, this park hosts many events including movies in the park, seasonal events like pumpkin carving near Halloween. “Blanket Bingo” is another favorite gathering where families, friends, and couples sit on blankets, chairs, and park tables while playing a rousing game of Bingo.

Feeling hungry or parched, stop by Houston’s favorite Greek dive, Niko Niko’s. They have gyros, greek salads, burgers, and many other to-go type of foods. In addition to serving the usual selection of drinks, they offer the only alcohol permitted in the park with their beer and wine selection.
