The Galveston Historical Foundation's annual Historic Homes Tour gives visitors a rare chance to step inside privately owned homes that tell the story of one of Texas's most architecturally rich cities. From grand Victorian mansions to charming cottages, the 2026 tour promises something for every kind of history lover.
This year's tour runs across two weekends, giving you plenty of opportunity to explore at your own pace. Beyond the home tours themselves, the event includes special experiences at historic sites across the island, making it far more than a simple walkthrough.
Whether you're a longtime Galveston admirer or discovering the island for the first time, this is one of those events that reminds you why historic preservation matters, and why Galveston's story is worth telling.
