HOUSTON HAS THE BEST PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN THE NATION!

Houston’s two private schools rank in the top 100 list of Niche’s 2017 best private high schools in America based on reviews from millions of students & parents, student SAT/ ACT scores and other factors.

We love our Houston home for so many reasons: the amazing sense of community we have here as well as the diverse cultures represented in our “melting pot” of people, foods, and events are just the start to a long list of reasons we love to call this city home. However, it’s time to add our fantastic educational system to the list; two of Houston’s very own private schools, St. John’s School and The Kincaid School, have recently been named as Niche’s “2017 Best Private Schools in America.”

Niche’s Ranking System

Niche is a Pittsburgh-based website that compares schools and neighborhoods all around the U.S, and used research and a national private school survey to establish this list of “2017 Best Private Schools in America.” The rankings for this prestigious list factored in reviews from millions of students and parents, along with the student-teacher ratio within the school, student SAT and ACT scores, the quality of the college system students consider and apply to, and other factors. The data found in each of these factors were collected from the U.S. Department of Education, Niche online users, and directly from the schools.

How did our Houston schools rank?

St. John’s ranked 20th on the list overall and was given an “A+” grade; the average yearly tuition is about $27,545, all the while boasting an endowment of nearly $67 million for its students and parents. Currently, the school is undergoing a $100 million master plan for its extensive 13-acre campus. The Kinkaid School ranked 77th on the list overall and was also given an “A+.” The average tuition for this private school is approximately$25,000, with an endowment of nearly $80 million.

Total, our Lone Star State was able to land 8 private schools on the list; while this is an amazing achievement in itself, we are so proud that 2 of 8 of those schools are from our very own hometown of Houston! If you ever need another reason to love Houston, this would be it!
