INNER CITY
- CITGO Freedom over Texas The CITGO Freedom Over Texas is the city’s signature show! Live music, extravagant fireworks, performances by headliner Jake Owen, and delicious food are the key components that make attending this celebration a must! The best part about this event is that there’s something for everyone! The fireworks display will be taking place from 4-10 pm on Buffalo Bayou in Eleanor Tinsley and Sam Houston Parks, so don’t forget to bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs to the biggest show in town. With this being the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar mission, CITGO’s Freedom Over Texas celebration is also giving you the once in a lifetime opportunity meet real astronauts, enjoy a virtual reality tour of the International Space Station, and watch NASA robot demonstrations!
- Lindale Park Join the #NANFAM at the 20th annual 4th of July Lindale Parade! It will be starting at 10 am, and will travel along Irvington Blvd from Eleanor to Gale.
NORTH HOUSTON
- Kingwood Looking to celebrate 4th of July with friends and family? The Kingwood community is having their annual 4th of July parade at 10 am at Creekwood Middle School. Later, you’re encouraged to check out the live music at Kingwood Town Center Park starting at 2 pm. This event will include performances by Mark Linabury, the Honky Tonk Revivalists, and That 70s Thing!
- The Woodlands We know this is a drive for our inner-city residents, but if you find yourselves in The Woodlands this 4th of July, feel free to stop by one of their THREE separate Independence Day celebrations! Check out the 43rd Annual 4th of July Parade at 9 am on Market St. Dive into Splash Day and participate in lots of swimming and other fun events at all the Woodlands Township pools from 10 am to 6 pm. Finally, end your day at The Red Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza that will be taking place later that evening from 6-10 pm. All the events have free admission.
EAST HOUSTON
- Pasadena For those of you who live on the East side, don’t worry I’ve got you covered! The 93rd Annual AmericaFest in Pasadena hosted by the Rose Bowl Stadium is making sure you’re not left out of the fun this year. With the Family Fun Zone starting at 2 pm, live music at 7 pm, and a firework show at 9 pm you’re sure to have a great time this holiday. Tickets are on sale now for $15 General Admission, Reserved Seating for $35, and discount tickets for groups.
SOUTH HOUSTON
- Pearland The Pearland Celebration of Freedom is taking place this year at Independence Park. The celebration will include a military salute, live music, food trucks, vendor booths, and the Whataburger Kids Zone! Did we mention that there will be lots of Giveaways? The gates will be open at 5:30 pm and the event/parking is free!
- Stafford Stafford residents are surely in for a treat! The 2019 Independence Day Celebration on July 3rd at 7 pm will include live performances, food vendors, game booths, and a free carnival! We were also told that families will be entertained by hayrides, a free dance, AND a parade. Then on July 4th, there will be a Freedom Rings Concert & Fireworks event which will include a performance by the Fort Bend Symphony at 7 pm with the fireworks show starting at 9 pm.
- Sugarland The city of Sugarland is doing it again! Head to the Crown Festival Park for their annual July 4th celebration, Red, White & Boom! There will be lots of activities for the family, live music, special appearances, and more. With so much movement happening, they’ve also made sure that food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event. Admission is free but tickets are required to enter and can only be purchased online ahead of time so don’t delay! The celebration starts at 4 pm and the fireworks are set to begin around 9:40 pm.
WEST HOUSTON
- Katy Don’t worry west Houston we haven’t forgotten about you! The City of Katy is hosting a two-party Independence Day celebration. The Katy Fire Department is teaming up with the Katy Parks & Recreation Department and the VFW Park to host the Katy Freedom Celebration. From 9 am-1 pm, you’ll be entertained by bounce houses, a dunking station, a petting zoo, and lots of snow cones! Later in the evening, Typhoon Texas and the Katy Mills Mall is inviting you to come and watch the fireworks show with them, the display will begin at 9 pm.
WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS?
- Bayou Bend Collection & Gardens Event
The Bayou Bend Collection & Gardens is hosting a special 4th of July celebration for the kids and their families. Include yourself in the Americana performances, stop by the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and don’t forget to say hello to Betsy Ross! The celebration lasts from 1-5 pm and admission is free!
- KIDEPENDENCE DAY at The Children’s Museum
Taking place in Houston this July 4th from 10am-3pm, events include special appearances by Captain America, a Wonder Woman meet and greet, an American Flag giveaway, and so much more! All the activities are available with regular museum admission. $12 for adults and children but children under 1 are free, so grab the whole fam and head over to the Kids Museum for an awesome Kidependence day your young ones will never forget!
