The Rise of Food Halls in Houston

Houston is home to a number of these developments that have added a fun and unique change.
October 15, 2021

Food and Dining Halls have most recently become a popular concept for major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, and now Houston, TX. The idea of being able to house multiple shops, restaurants, and entertainment options within one building allows for strategic construction when expansive land might not be readily available. Houston is home to a number of these developments that have added a fun and unique change to the Houston restaurant industry.

Post Houston is a multi-use development in Downtown Houston, which will open in the fall of 2021 and will include a concert venue, working spaces, bars, and restaurants. The restaurants announced so far for this project will include “Salt & Time Butcher Shop,” originally based in Austin, TX, offering locally-raised meats and other gourmet groceries for you to put together the perfect charcuterie board. Another restaurant announced within the development is a brick-and-mortar location for the Houston food truck, “Taco Fuego.”

Another concept is “Railway Heights Market Hall,” which is currently working through its soft opening with limited hours from Wednesday to Sunday. Once fully opened, the venue will include an outdoor beer garden, dog park, retailers, and a farmers market for Houstonians to enjoy.

Bravery Chef Hall, located in Downtown Houston, opened its doors during the summer of 2019 across the street from Market Square Park inside high-rise Aris Market Square. The open concept of this dining hall allows patrons to visit different restaurants and watch as the individual chefs prepare the food right in front of them.
