    Jacob’s Well | Wimberley, TX– Located northwest of Wimberley, Texas, Jacob’s Well is a hot spot for daredevils and those seekings a true adrenaline rush. This spring, just an hour or so southwest of Austin, is known as one of the most dangerous diving spots in the world. The spring in this natural area is the mouth of an underwater cave system that can take daring divers more than 130 ft. below the surface of the Earth. However, don’t let that scare you off. Despite the well-known dangers, Jacob’s Well remains a popular tourist and diving spot and is safe for swimmers, but divers and swimmers alike are encouraged to swim at their own risk.

     

    Fort Worth Water Gardens | Fort Worth, TX – The Fort Worth Water Gardens is a beautiful and refreshing oasis in downtown Fort Worth. The Water Gardens is an architectural marvel featuring three gorgeous water fountains and pools throughout its grounds. These pools aren’t for swimming, but they still offer a spot where families can cool off under a refreshing fountain spray.

     

    Blue Lagoon | Huntsville, TX– Texas is filled with unique watering holes, but none can compare to the clear blue waters of Blue Lagoon, located just five miles north of Huntsville, Texas. Blue Lagoon features two watering holes, also known as the most beautiful swimming spots in the state of Texas. These crystal-clear pools were created by two former limestone quarries, creating blue-green water perfect for swimming and scuba diving. Amidst a tree-lined area and surrounded by limestone rock, Blue Lagoon is truly an underrated gem found in East Texas. It is open from April to September and is sure to make a splash with your family.

     

    Marfa, Texas – Tucked away in Presidio County in the Chihuahuan Desert of far west Texas, the small town of Marfa is a unique mix of old and new, classic and modern, art, great food, and awe-inspiring views. Though popular amongst East Texas locals, this arts hub town is a must-see for Texans all over to visit.     Hamilton Pool Reserve | Austin, Texas – Hamilton Pool Preserve is a gorgeous and historic swimming hole located just a short 45-minute drive from Austin. This unique gem is actually a collapsed grotto with beautiful blue-green water, surrounded by incredible rock formations and boasts a relaxing 50-foot waterfall. Before you visit this amazing spot, be sure to make a reservation as space is limited.

     

    Palmetto State Park | Gonzales, TX– Just an hour from Austin and San Antonio, Palmetto State Park is located in Gonzales County, Texas. Palmetto Park is a haven for lush plants and a wide variety of animals. This small park offers an abundance of fun, both on water and land. Bring your family to this little piece of the tropics and enjoy swimming, tubing, fishing, and canoeing.  In addition, Palmetto Park offers hike and bike trails, campsites and geocache- a modern day treasure hunt!
